What is MyMotum Car Subscription?
We provide a hassle free alternative to car ownership. We recognise that buying a new car is a big investment and what you need today might not be what you need in a years’ time. Similar to your Foxtel or mobile phone subscription, where you pay a weekly or monthly fee for those services, we offer the convenience and flexibility to choose the car and term that suits your lifestyle right now. You choose the car and make the monthly subscription payments and we take care of all the running costs, like registration, service and maintenance, insurance and roadside assistance. With no joining fee or lock in contracts, you’ll enjoy the freedom and flexibility that owning or leasing doesn’t provide.
Why subscribe rather than buy or lease a car?
We live in a digital age where we want everything now, with flexibility and the convenience to change our mind. Buying or leasing a car simply doesn’t provide the same flexibility that comes with a MyMotum car subscription. Buying or leasing a car can involve a lot of paperwork, research, long term debt and repayments, balloon payments and significant running costs. With a simple monthly payment, you can focus on the important things in life, manage your budget easily and drive the car that suits your lifestyle today, without the stress of long-term commitments. Because now more than ever, life changes.
What if you don’t have the car I’m looking for?
Whilst we try to maintain a variety of different size and style cars in our fleet, we may not always have what you’re looking for. The beauty of car subscription is that you aren’t locked in for years like you would be with buying or leasing a car, so if it suits your lifestyle right now, you can subscribe to a car that may not be exactly what you’re looking for and when life permits, you can get yourself into your dream car. Plus, we may even be able to access the car you’d like, so if you don’t see it on our website, please get in touch and we will see if we can custom order it for you.
How do I apply?
The process is quick and convenient. You choose the car and minimum term that suits your lifestyle and budget. Complete the online booking form in a few simple steps and we’ll call to confirm your booking and when you’d like your car delivered to your door. Of course you’ll need to provide proof of identify, including a valid driver’s licence. And then enjoy your drive.
Can I use a MyMotum vehicle for rideshare?
No, your vehicle cannot be used for providing rideshare services like Uber or similar.
Policy
What is the minimum subscription term?
A MyMotum subscription has a minimum term of 3 months. After that, you can simply return the vehicle to us, swap to another vehicle or continue on with your current vehicle month to month.
What if I want to extend during my subscription term?
Of course you can. Flexibility is what it’s all about. Get in touch with us by phone or email and let us know how long you’d like to extend for. We’ll update your agreement and even review your monthly rate, as it may be reduced depending how long you intend to extend for.
Can I downgrade my subscription during the term?
Whilst your minimum repayments will remain the same for the term you booked, if you need a different car to suit your lifestyle which is less in value than that which you’ve subscribed to, we’ll do what we can to get you into something more suitable. A delivery fee may be payable depending on the length you’ve held your subscription. Get in contact and we’ll talk you through the process.
Can I swap my car during my term?
Car subscription is all about convenience, so just like your mobile phone plan, you can upgrade at any time, subject to the availability of your chosen car of course. If we’ve got the car you’re after, we’ll arrange a time for you to make the swap and your monthly payments will increase based on the car you’ve chosen. A delivery fee may be payable depending on the length you’ve held your subscription. Get in contact and we’ll talk you through the process.
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel your subscription, please email us at help@mymotum.com.au 30 days prior to the date you wish to return your vehicle.
What if I need to cancel my car subscription before the minimum term?
No worries. Simply pay out the remainder of your minimum spend for the duration you booked and that’s it, we’ll collect the car and you’re done.
Licence
Is there a minimum age requirement to take up a MyMotum car subscription?
As long as you have a full Australian driver’s licence and are over the age of 21.
Payments
What happens if I get a parking or speeding fine?
MyMotum will notify you if you receive a traffic/parking infringement. Infringement handling will attract administration fees.
How do toll road charges work?
You should ensure that you sign up to and install your own toll device to the vehicle. Ensure that your device is in working order. If you forget to install your own toll device, a manual processing and administration fee will be charged in addition to the cost of any tolls you incur.
What’s included in my monthly cost?
Your monthly subscription fee includes:
  • Delivery and collection (for subscriptions of 6 months or more)
  • Vehicle registration
  • Comprehensive insurance
  • Servicing and maintenance
  • Roadside assistance
  • 385 KM per week
  • Free additional driver
  • A replacement vehicle if you’re in a not at fault car accident
  • What does free additional driver mean?
    We know everyone uses their car differently. You can nominate another fully licenced driver to use your car who will also be fully insured when driving the vehicle. Simply notify us of the drivers’ name and provide their license details and we’ll add their name to your subscription agreement.
    What if I use more than the included KM in a month?
    That’s okay. We’ll charge a small fee of $0.33 per km for those additional KM driven in that month when you make your next monthly payment. If you drive a lot more KM than originally planned, we may need to discuss a vehicle swap sooner or an additional km pack.
    Are there any hidden costs?
    No, absolutely not. Our fees are completely transparent. We will tell you upfront what your minimum recurring repayment will be. You’ll need to pay for your own fuel and toll road usage, but that’s it. We even waive the membership and delivery fees on subscriptions over 6 months duration.
    Insurance
    What happens if I have an accident while in my car?
    If you’ve been involved in an accident, give us a call on 1300 166 886 and we’ll handle the process for you. Make sure where there is another party involved to gather information such as:
  • Contact information
  • Registration details
  • Licence details
  • Insurance details
  • Photos of the vehicles and property damaged where possible
  • Do not admit liability to the incident. Our team will handle the process for you.
  • What happens if I damage the car?
    As soon as practical, report the damage to MyMotum by emailing photos of the damage to help@mymotum.com.au. Once we’ve reviewed the damage, we’ll be in touch to organise an assessment and advise of steps to bring the vehicle to one of our repair centres.
    What is the excess if I need to make a claim?
    In the event that you need to make a claim for loss or damage to your MyMotum vehicle, the standard excess is $3,000. The standard excess can be reduced to $1,000 with an additional $25 per week fee. This excess reduction fee can be added to your subscription package when establishing your subscription.
